Carry out 2 brewing cycles without coffee before brewing any actual coffee.
Allow all the water to run through and then pour it away. Rinse the glass jug
and brew another jug without coffee so that the coffee maker is completely
clean.
NOTE!
Always use clean, cold water.
Brewing coffee
Open the lid on the water reservoir and fill it with the desired amount of water
between the minimum and maximum marks (min 4 cups/max 11 cups). See
the marking on the outside of the water reservoir when filling.
Note that the quantity of brewed coffee will be slightly less, as the ground
coffee absorbs some of the water. Place the glass jug with the lid on the
hotplate.
Insert a filter (1x4) into the filter holder and measure out the required quantity
of coffee into the filter – approx 1 coffee measure per cup. Never add more
than 75 g of ground coffee, otherwise the filter may overflow, which in turn will
result in grounds in the coffee.
Make sure that the filter holder is positioned correctly and that the handle is
fully lowered so that the holder locks in place before the lid is lowered.
Plug the appliance into a wall socket, display shows “12:00”. Set the desired
coffee intensity by pressing the AROMA button to the desired level - 1, 2 or
3 coffee beans are shown in the display. The time will then be shown on the
display again.
Press the switch to start the coffee maker. The red indicator lamp will light up
on the display and the strength setting of the coffee will be shown above the
time. The coffee will start brewing shortly after. Three beeps will be heard to
tell you that the coffee is ready.
The hotplate underneath the glass jug will get very hot. Always switch off the
coffee maker once the glass jug is empty or when the coffee no longer needs
to be kept hot. For reasons of hygiene, we always recommend removing the
used coffee filter from the coffee maker once the brewing process is complete.
Coffee brewing using the timer
Prepare the coffee maker with a filter and ground coffee as per the
instructions above. Plug the appliance in if you have not already done so.
Set the current time
Press the PROG button until CLOCK is shown on the display.
Press the HOUR and MIN buttons to enter the current time. Each press of
the MIN button increases the time by one minute (0-59). Each press of the H
button increases the time by one hour (00-23). Press and hold the button to
move through the numbers more quickly. Wait until the set time stops flashing.
The time has now been set.
