Coffee brewing
• Lift the lid to the water tank and fill with the wanted amount of water in the
water tank. See the marking on the water tank for easy filling. Please note
that the marking shows the amount of fresh water. There will always be a
little less water in the glass carafe when the brewing is done, which is due
to the absorption of water by the coffee grounds.
•
Lift the lid to the filter funnel, insert a paper filter (size 102) in the filter
funnel and put the filter holder down into the filter funnel. Add the wanted
amount of coffee in the filter – approx. 1 measuring jug a cup, close the lid
to the filter funnel and then close the lid of the coffee maker. Put the glass
carafe back in place and be careful that it is positioned correctly in order
that the anti-drip function is activated by the lid of the glass carafe.
•
Plug the appliance and switch on the coffee maker on the on/off button
and the lamp will go on.
• After brewing the glass carafe can be taken off the hot-plate – please note
that the hot-plate always gets very hot. Always remember to turn off the
coffee maker, when the carafe has been emptied or if you no longer want
to keep the coffee warm. For hygienic reasons we recommend always to
remove the used paper filter from the coffee maker after brewing.
• Switch off the coffee maker wonce the carafe has been emptied or if the
coffee should
no longer be kept warm.
Anti-drip
This coffee maker has an automatic anti-drip function that prevents coffee
from running through the filter funnel, if the carafe is not positioned on the
hot-plate. This means that the glass carafe can be shortly taken off the coffee
maker during brewing, but it is important to put back the glass carafe on the
hot-plate within max 20 seconds. If not, the coffee will overflow.
Auto-stop function
The coffee maker is equipped with an auto-stop function that automatically
switches off the appliance after 40 minutes.
Cleaning
Switch off the appliance, unplug and let the coffee maker cool off before
cleaning. Remove used paper filter from the filter funnel and clean the
appliance with a damp cloth and wipe with a dry, soft cloth - never use
scouring powder or a sponge! Loose parts (filter funnel and glass carafe)
shall be washed with washing-up liquid (rinse carefully) and wiped. The coffee
maker cabinet must not be immersed in water or kept under running water. Do
not put the glass carafe and the filter funnel in the dishwasher.
NOTE!
If the coffee maker is used in places where there is a risk of frost
(caravans, summer cottages etc.) make sure to empty the water tank
COMPLETELY (turn the appliance upside down) if the appliance is left and
not in use. This will also prevent damage to the coffee maker in case of any
remaining water freezing. Remember always to empty the coffee maker if it
shall not be used for a certain period of time.
