Dinghy,
Davit & Outboard
4E1: Davit
This boat has a high-quality electric davit supporting
the dinghy.
To operate the davit:
At all times, please be careful not to damage
anything with the protruding outboard
motor’s skeg (the protrusion below the prop)!
1. Connect the remote control to the socket on
the davit head.
2. Turn on the anchor windlass switch.
3. Remove the dinghy restraining straps.
4. Raise the dinghy until bow rail is just under
flybridge overhang, rotate the dinghy and
swing over the starboard side with bow
pointing aft.
5.
Lower dingy until afloat and bring it back to the aft swim step.
6. Release the three dinghy bridle snap hooks from the dinghy.
7.
Secure boom with its bridle to dinghy stantions so it will not swing around if Aquila rolls. Clip all
three bridle straps together.
8. Remove the remote control and stow out of the weather.
To re-stow the dinghy
Reverse above procedure, being sure to prevent the dinghy from damaging (expensive) windows or decks (be
especially wary of the skeg protruding at the bottom end of the outboard)!
4E2: Dinghy
The dinghy aboard this boat is an 10.3’ Zodiac hard-bottom inflatable boat.
For safety, and compliance with U.S. rules, there should be a life jacket aboard the dinghy for each
passenger aboard whenever the dinghy is at sea.
The dinghy is equipped with seats, a battery, and
fuel tank. Open the drain plug in rainy weather so the dinghy
doesn’t fill with water. Make sure drain plug is re-secured before launching.
