Operating Instructions
We are delighted that you have purchased the portable night-light from NUK! This
small nocturnal companion is portable and safe, soothes children as they fall asleep
and banishes any fear they have of the dark.
Please read through these operating instructions carefully before using this
appliance and keep them in a safe place for future use. Failure to observe the safety
instructions may result in damage to the appliance or even personal injury!

To keep your child safe from potentially fatal accidents:
• Keep the USB cable away from babies and young children. Risk of
strangulation!
General information
Caution!
To prevent material damage, follow the instructions below.
•
The night-light is not a toy. Please make sure that it is only used as intended
(see “Proper use”).
•
Prior to every use, you should check the night-light for any signs of damage
from wear and tear, only using it when none are detected.
•
Do not allow water or other liquids to get into the night-light. It is not watertight.
Never clean it under running water, and never immerse it in liquid.
•
Place the night-light on a solid surface to guarantee sufficient stability.
•
Do not expose the device to heat, e.g. on radiators or in direct sunlight.
•
The light source of the night-light is not replaceable.
•
For safety and warranty reasons, the product must not be opened.
Battery instructions
•
Only charge the night-light using the USB cable provided.
•
Only charge the night-light out of reach of children.
•
The chargeable battery is not replaceable.
•
For charging, use only a USB charger or the USB port of a computer with an
output voltage of 5 V DC.
Proper use
The night-light is used at night to prevent fear of the dark and thus enables peaceful
sleep.
•
The portable nightlight is not suitable for household room illumination.
•
The night-light is intended solely for private use, not for commercial purposes.
Using for the first time, charging
Charge the night-light fully before using for the first time.
Caution!
Do not use force when connecting the USB connector. The USB
connector will only fit in the USB socket the right way round.
1. Insert the large jack of the supplied USB cable in the
socket of a USB charger (5 V DC) or in the USB port of a
computer.
2. Insert the DC plug of the supplied USB cable in the
socket in the night-light.
The red charging light in the base of the night-light comes
on and the battery is charged.
The initial charging of the light will take 3 hours.
Any further charging will take 1.5 hours.
The charging is finished when the red light in the base of the night-light turns off.
3. Pull out the USB charging cable. Do not leave the night-light permanently on
charge.
Operating the night-light
The night-light is operated using the button on the top:
Press 1x: Night-light turns on at 10 % brightness.
Press 2x: Night-light turns on at 40 % brightness.
Press 3x: Night-light turns on at full brightness.
Press 4x: Night-light goes out.
Cleaning
Only use a damp cloth to clean the light; do not use any abrasive cleaners or
solutions.

Disposing
In the European Union, the symbol of a crossed-through wheelie bin
means that the product must be disposed of at a separate waste
collection point. This applies to this product and all accessories marked
with this symbol. Products labelled in this way must not be disposed of
with normal household waste, but should be taken to a collection point
for recycling electric and electronic equipment. Recycling helps to
reduce the consumption of raw materials, and therefore protects the environment.
An electrical device with integrated battery like this night-light must be disposed of
separately. Do not dispose of it with normal household waste.
Warranty
In addition to the seller‘s warranty obligations arising from the contract to purchase,
we as the manufacturer provide a warranty of 24 months from purchase of the
appliance as long as the appliance is used properly and the operating instructions
are followed. Evidence of the date of purchase and the type of appliance should be
provided by means of a receipt. The purchaser‘s statutory rights are unaffected by
this manufacturer warranty.
During the warranty period, we undertake to remedy any defects attributable to
poor materials or workmanship. Worn parts are excluded from the warranty.
Minor deviations from specified quality which do not affect the value or usability of
the appliance are not covered by the warranty. We are likewise unable to accept the
warranty if the defects on the appliance are due to transport damage for which we
are not responsible, if they are attributable to misuse or lack of care or if the
appliance has been interfered with by persons not authorized by us to do so.
The warranty service will involve repair, replacement of parts or replacement of the
appliance at our discretion. The warranty period will be neither extended nor
restarted by the performance of warranty services. The warranty for any spare parts
fitted will expire with the warranty for the appliance as a whole. Extended or different
claims, especially those relating to the making good of damage sustained outside
the appliance, are excluded unless liability is compulsory in law.
We will not accept the costs or risks of transport. An appliance sent in without
evidence of the purchase date will be treated as a repair. The appliance will only be
repaired following discussion with the customer. Please keep the article number
and the LOT number in case of a complaint.
