Installation Procedure
Read the instructions completely prior to installing this converter
to the network.
Attach the UTP cable from the network to the RJ45 port on the
Model 5577. Attach a MAU or drop cable to the 15 pin AUI port
on the Model 5577. Slide the locking mechanism to secure the
device.
Apply power from the wall adapter unit, the POWER LED should
be lit.
Important:
SQE (heartbeat) on external MAU’s attached to the
AUI port must be DISABLED for proper operation.
The 10Base-T standard employs the transmit-equalization method
with the added function of LINK test. A 10Base-T transceiver
can operate in a Starlan-10 environment by disabling the link test.
