How to Use the Electronic Larynx
1.
Place the EL sounding button firmly against your neck.
2.
While pressing the
On/Off
button, shape the desired words using your tongue and lips.
The tones produced will resonate in the mouth.
Helpful Hints
•
Find your “sweet spot”. This is the location on your neck that will produce the best
vibration and result in loudest and clearest sound. Use the EL in different spots on your
neck to determine your “sweet spot”.
•
To achieve the best sound, hold the EL firmly against your neck, speak in short phrases
and turn the Nu-Vois I off at the end of each phrase.
•
If possible, learn to operate your EL in your non-dominate hand. This will allow you to
use your other hand for writing and other tasks.
