RECOMMENDED TESTING PROCEDURES
9.1
Typical setup of equipment connection for testing
9.1.1 Testing of VHF radio stations with DSC through vessel’s antenna

no need to set up configuration in menu:
SETTINGS > Test config
.
This setup allows to test with the most accuracy the output power level of
transmitter and the SWR of antenna feeder in real circumstances on the vessel.
Besides the transmitter, antenna and antenna feeder route are checked as well.
Due to transmitted signal is sent by antenna in broadcast and can be accepted in
radius of tens of nautical miles, this setup has to be used with precaution – carry out
testing on channels 6, 9, 13 and 16 as fast as possible.
It is absolutely forbidden send
DISTRESS
signal in this setup (fig. 9.1)!
