Software Dependencies
Software support on the product will continue per Nortel support policy. BayRS 15.7 will
continue to be fully supported for one year after manufacture discontinuation and limited
support for four more years after full support ends. BayRS 15.6 and 15.4 will continue to
have limited support for five years after manufacture discontinuation.
Alternative/Replacement Products/Solutions
The recommended replacement product for Multiprotocol Router ARN is the Secure Router
1001 or 1002. Please note that Nortel’s Secure Router products are IP WAN routers and do
not support legacy multiprotocol features of the BayRS family, including the Multiprotocol
Router ARN. The Secure Router 1001 and 1002, however, provide superior
price/performance with advanced features in the areas of Routing, WAN, VPN, Security,
Quality of Service and Network Management.
