MPLIFIER MOUNTING
The MC960PA amplifi er installs on the wall stud where the
two J-boxes have been mounted. The amplifi er’s mounting
plate has three protective wiring bushings. The cables
from the J-boxes route through these bushings. When the
amplifi er is properly mounted, the bushings will align with
the J-box openings.
1. Loosen the four side screws, remove the fi fth case screw near
the power connector. Remove the cover of the amplifi er.
Discard
all cardboard and packing pieces from the amplifi er.
2. With a stud fi nder, locate the center of the
stud and mark it on the wall.
3. Hold the amplifi er centered on the wall stud so the wiring
bushings align with the J-boxes. Mark the location for
the top mounting screw at the top of the keyhole slot
on the mounting plate. Set the amplifi er down.
4. Screw one of the mounting screws provided into the
location marked in Step 3. Leave the screw head
out a bit so the keyhole slot will fi t over it.
5. Hold the amplifi er up to the wall and route the cables
through the wiring bushings. Hang the amplifi er
on the screw through the keyhole slot.
6. Install the bottom mounting screw supplied into the stud
through the bottom hole in the mounting plate.
7. Tighten both screws.
I
NTERCOM MASTER HOOKUP
The MC960PA amplifi er input connects to the dmc1 or dmc3-4
auxiliary audio output. The wiring connections are made using
8-position plug-in terminal blocks. Each MC960PA amplifi er
is supplied with two of these plug-in terminal blocks.
1. Remove the plug-in terminal block from the MC960PA connector
labeled
TO SECOND AMP
by pulling the screw terminal
part straight up from the circuit board. This plug-in terminal
block will be used will be used on the
Intercom Master end
of
the MS7X5SC cable to connect the cable to the master.
2. Connect the Intercom Master end of the MS7X5SC
cable to the plug-in terminal block (see Figure 5).
3. Plug the terminal block into the Intercom Master’s
auxiliary audio output connector.
A
MPLIFIER INPUT HOOKUP
There are two connectors on the MC960PA amplifi er. One
labeled
PREAMP INTERCONNECT
is the low-level audio input
for the amplifi er that comes from the Intercom Master. The
second connector labeled
TO SECOND AMP
is only used in
multi-amplifi er installations. It serves as a low-level audio
output that connects to the next amplifi er’s input.
1. Remove the plug-in terminal block from the MC960PA
connector labeled
PREAMP INTERCONNECT
.
2. Connect the amplifi er end of the MS7X5SC cable
to the plug-in terminal block (see Figure 5).
3. Plug the terminal block into the MC960PA connector
labeled
PREAMP INTERCONNECT
.
