Removal and Installation
Swivel Assembly Removal
See Figure 9-1.
NOTE:
These procedures cannot be completed while the smart gun is still installed
to the robot. Ensure any pressures are relieved from the smart gun before attempting
service. Please follow the following procedures to ensure the smart gun is not damaged
and is properly removed from the robot assembly. Refer to
Installation
for additional
information.
1. Remove all the airline tubing connected to the swivel assembly (11) air inlet ports, so
not to damage their connections.
2. Remove any connections to the robot assembly, via the vision mount system (4) or
any other hardware connections.
3. Remove socket head cap screws (15) securing the torque bracket strap (13) around
the robot arm. Remove the torque bracket (16) from the robot and smart gun
assembly.
4. Ensure the smart gun assembly is properly secured before removing the robot
mounting socket head cap screws (10). Remove the socket head cap screws (10)
securing the robot adapter plate (14) to the swivel assembly (11).
NOTE:
The smart gun assembly must be secured to remove the five mounting screws.
Once the mounting screws are removed, the smart gun is not mounted to anything and
will drop freely from the robot assembly.
5. Remove the M6 socket head cap screws (12) securing the robot adapter plate (14) to
the robot face. Remove the robot adapter plate (14) from the robot face.
6. Ensure all airlines from the swivel assembly (11) to the smart gun (20) integrated
valves (1) are disconnected and all pressures are relieved.
7. For easy removal of the swivel assembly (11), the vision mount system (4) can be
removed. Remove the socket head cap screw (2) and shoulder bolt (3) from the vision
mounting system (4). Remove the vision mounting system (4) from the smart gun
assembly.
8. Remove the socket head cap screw (2) and shoulder bolt (5) from the vision mounting
adapter (6). Remove the vision adapter (6) from the smart gun assembly.
9.
Remove all the air fittings (9 & 8) connected to the swivel assembly (11) air inlet ports.
10. Remove the socket head cap screws (18) securing the material manifold (19) to the
swivel assembly (11). Remove the material manifold (19) from the swivel assembly
(11).
Swivel Assembly Installation
See Figure 9-1.
1. Install the material sealing O-ring (17) into the O-ring groove located around the
material outlet ports of the material manifold (19).
2. Align the through material manifold (19) mounting holes with the threaded holes on
the side of the swivel assembly (11). Install M6 X 25mm long socket head cap screws
(18) through the material manifold (19) and into the swivel assembly (11). Tighten the
socket head cap screws (18) to 20.3 N●m (179.7 in-lbs).

Install all air fittings into the air inlet (9) and outlet ports (8) of the swivel assembly
(11). Straight fittings (9) are installed into the air inlet ports and the 90 degree fittings
(8) are installed into the air outlet ports.
4. Align the through smart gun (20) mounting holes with the threaded holes of the swivel
assembly (11). Install hex head bolts (7) through the smart gun (20) and into the
swivel (11) threaded holes. Tighten the hex head bolts (7) to 179.7 in-lbs (20.3 N●m).
