The Engine
Each of our boats have a slightly different starting mechanism so you will be briefed fully
on starting and stopping your yacht.
The ‘morse control’ or the throttle as it’s more commonly known, is the black stick next to
the wheel. It is a simple idea, if you push the stick forward you will be in forward gear,
the opposite for reverse. Neutral is straight up.
If you are having trouble starting your engine and it needs some revs or you want to run
the engine to charge the batteries in harbour, then you will need to engage the clutch. You
do this by pushing in the black button on the side, keeping it pressed in while you push the
black stick forward. Around 1500 RPM will give the best charge for the batteries. However
it is best for the engine and your neighbours if you can run the engine in gear while out for
the day.
