Preparation 2 Insert a Memory Card

Turn off the camera and open the battery-
chamber/memory card slot cover.
•
When the camera turns off, the power-on lamp and the monitor
turn off.
•
Before opening the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover,
hold the camera upside down to prevent the batteries from
falling out.

Insert a memory card.
•
Slide the memory card in until it clicks into place.

Inserting a Memory Card
Inserting a memory card upside down or backwards could
damage the camera and the memory card.
Be sure to check that
the memory card is in the correct orientation.

Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot
cover.

Formatting a Memory Card
•
The first time you insert a memory card that has been used in another device into this camera, be
sure to format it with this camera.
•
All data stored on a memory card is permanently deleted when the card is formatted.
Copy any data on the card that you wish to keep to a computer before formatting.
•
To format a memory card, insert the card into the camera, press the
d
button, and select
Format card (
E
82) in the setup menu (

98).
