Step 3 Frame a Picture

Hold the camera steady.
•
Keep fingers, hair, the camera strap, and other objects
away from the lens, flash, AF assist-illuminator,
microphone, and speaker.
•
When taking pictures in portrait (tall) orientation, turn
the camera so that the flash is above the lens.

Frame the picture.
•
Point the camera at the object (subject) you want to
take a picture of.

When Using a Tripod
•
We recommend using a tripod to stabilize the camera in the following situations:
- When shooting in dark surroundings with the flash mode (

- When zooming in on the subject
