Read the complete manual before carrying out the installation and activating the system. Keep
the manual for future reference.
1. DESCRIPTION
This motion detector can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall and is ideal for flush-mounting in luminaires
or behind partitions and screens (without metal). The detector registers movement using HF technology.
The detector only switches on once the set daylight condition (twilight level) is no longer reached. The
duration of activation is extended as long as movements of persons are detected.
2. USE
The detector is suitable for controlling lighting.
Please note that the HF sensor covers a different detection area with ceiling or wall mounting (see Fig. 2).
Important remarks for outdoor use:
• The detector is not waterproof and must therefore be built into a housing for outdoor use.
• In case of outdoor use, take into account that the HF sensor registers all movements. Movements of
hedges, leaves, raindrops and snowflakes may cause the sensor to switch on incorrectly.
• It is not recommended to set up the sensor close to a street. Passing vehicles up to 20 m away may
activate the sensor.
3. OPERATION
The HF movement sensor actively emits high-frequency electro-magnetic waves (5.8 GHz) and responds to
changes in the waves reflected by objects. If the sensor detects something, it switches on the light. After
the final detection, the sensor switches off the light after the switch-off delay (approx. 10 s to 5 min.) has
lapsed. The sensor can also detect movements through walls, doors and glass.
As the detection is the result of reflected waves, the detection range changes according to the mounting
position. The speed and the type of object (a person, vehicle, etc.) strongly influence the detection range.
Check that the SENS potentiometer for the detection range per metre is set optimally (see § 6).
4. MOUNTING
1. Mark the drill holes on the ceiling or wall and drill the holes the same size as the plugs.
2. Firmly press the plugs into the drill holes.
3. Mount the detector to the ceiling or wall.
4. Connect the wires as shown in the wiring diagram in Fig. 6 (also see § 5).
5. Set the desired settings for the HF sensor (also see § 6).
6. Attach the metal shield bracket (ref. 351-27361, to be ordered separately) to limit the detection
range of the detector and eliminate interference from moving objects (see fig. 5).
5. WIRING
Connect the detector as shown in the wiring diagram in Fig. 7.

To ensure the long life span of the motion detector, we recommend that you connect a few lamps directly,
without ballasts. Lamps with a high starting current (e.g. fluorescent lighting, economy lamps, LEDs, lamps
with ballast) should ideally be connected with an external relay.
6. CONFIGURATION
6.1. Switch-off delay
Using the TIME potentiometer, the switch-off delay after the final movement is set (see Fig. 4a). The switch-off
delay determines the length of time the light stays on after the final movement in the detection area.
6.2. Light sensitivity
Using the LUX potentiometer, you can set the threshold value of the twilight switch continuously between
ð
(daytime mode, 2,000 lux) and
(night mode, 5 lux) (see Fig. 4c). The light is only switched on once
the set threshold value is reached.
6.3. Detection range
Using the METER potentiometer, the detection range of the detector is set (approx. 1 m – 10 m diameter)
(see fig. 4b).
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Malfunction
Solution
The light does not switch on.
• The threshold value has not been reached. Increase the
twilight value with the LUX potentiometer
• Increase the detection range using the METER
potentiometer.
• Check the lighting and the fuse.
The light switches on for no reason.
• The threshold value has been reached. Lower the
twilight value with the LUX potentiometer
• Decrease the detection range using the METER
potentiometer.
• Check the detection area for causes of incorrectly
switching on (movement of plants, animals, etc.).
