AMPLIFICATION

 

 

When used in the PX system standard configuration, all processing and powering needs  

are taken care of by the PXA8000

element. 

Care should be taken to avoid amplifier  clippi

ng. 

It is important to understand that a low power amplifier driven into clipping is more  likely to 

damage a loudspeaker than a higher power amplifier used within its ratings

This is  because mu

sic signals have a high peak-to-average "crest" factor. When an amplifier is severely  overdriven, 
its output waveform is 

“clipped”

 (its peaks are squared off) 

 reducing the crest  factor. In extre

me cases, the waveform can approach that of a square wave. An amplifier is  normally capable o
f producing far more power under these conditions than its undistorted rated  power output. The 
use of very high power amplifiers with outputs much greater than those  recommended is discou
raged. 

Care should also be taken to avoid switch-on surges, which can result in momentary  pow

er peaks in excess of specified ratings. The PXA8000 element has a protection circuit to  avoid th
is between the integrated processor and amplifier. Nevertheless, this circuit only works  within th
e PXA8000 components, if you switch off your mixer or any other exterior component  the powe
r surge will occur. When powering up a sound system it is important to switch on the  amplifiers 
last, after the mixer and control electronics have stabilised. When powering down the  system, r
everse the sequence and switch off the amplifiers first. 

PX SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT

 

 

The PX System is a versatile, easy and fast deployment system. It can be used ground-  s

tacked or suspended. Combined with the optional splay adjustment kit NC07712, you can  adjust 

the splay as needed in 5º steps up to 10º front or rear. 

 

 

GROUND STACKING

 

 
 

There are some things you should know about ground-stacking the PX System. PXL118  S

UB1 and SUB2 have a correct order on the stack. Always start with SUB1 from the ground.  Othe

r than that, the stack is pretty standard. The PXH64 has two working positions. It can work  in a 

H60º x V40º when there is only one vertical stack per side, or you can rotate it to achieve a  H4

0º x V60º when you have a double stack on the same place. This way 

you’ll

 reduce the comb  ef

fects between those elements. You can also arrange it so you have up to 80º horizontal  coverag

e. Of course, if you need more coverage, you can either triple stack, or if you 

don’t

  have the m

eans, double stack in the H60º x V40º positioning.

것이 중요하다. 그 이유는 음악적 시그널이 평균 대비 최대의 높은 “파고율(crest factor)”을 가지고 있기 때문이다. 앰프가 심하게 허용치 

이상으로 구동되면, 출력 파형은 파고율을 줄이면서 “클리핑”(최고치는 평평해진다) 된다. 극단적인 경우, 파형이 구형파(square wave)

에 다다를 수 있다. 앰프는 보통 정상적인 정격출력보다 더 큰 출력을 재생할 수 있지만, 권장출력보다 훨씬 더 큰 출력으로 고출력 앰프

를 사용하는 것은 금물이다. 

또한, 명시된 수준을 초과하여 순간최대출력을 일으킬 수 있는 스위치 온 서지를 주의해야 한다. PXA8000은 통합 프로세서와 앰프 사이

에 이러한 서지를 피하기 위해 보호 회로가 있다. 그렇지만 이러한 회로는 PXA8000 내에서만 작동한다. 만일 믹서나 다른 외부 장치를 

끄면 파워 서지가 발생할 수 있다. 음향시스템의 출력을 올릴 때, 믹서와 컨트롤 장치가 안정화된 이후에 마지막으로 앰프를 켜는 것이 중

요하다. 시스템의 출력을 내릴 때에는 순서를 바꿔서 앰프를 제일 먼저 꺼야 한다.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

앰프 

PX 시스템 배치 

PX 시스템은 다용도의 사용하기 쉽고 빠른 배치 시스템이다. 그라운드 스택을 하거나 매달 수 있으며 옵션으로 벌림각 조정 키트 

NC07712에 결합하면 필요한 만큼 전/후면 10도까지 5도 단계로 벌림각을 조정할 수 있다.  

 

그라운드 스택 

PX시스템을 그라운드 스택 하는 것에 대해 알아야 할 몇 가지가 있다. PXL118 SUB1과 SUB2는 스택 시 정확한 순서가 있다. 항상 바닥

에서부터 SUB1로 시작해야 한다. 그것 이외에는 특별히 까다로운 부분은 없다. PXH64는 두 개의 작동 위치가 있다. 한쪽에 수직으로 

된 하나의 스택을 쌓으면 수평 60도, 수직 40도로 작동하며, 같은 장소에 더블로 스택하면 수평 40도, 수직 60도를 만들도록 회전시킬 

수 있다. 이런 식으로 스피커들 사이의 빗질효과(Comb effect)를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 최고 80도 수평 커버리지를 내도록 조정 가능하다. 

물론 더 큰 커버리지를 원하면 세 대의 스택을 쌓을 수 있다. 그럴 여유가 없다면 수평 60도, 수직 40도로 더블로 스택 하면 된다.
