Annex 4. Trig In/Out
On the side panel of the digital system there is a trig in/out to attach stimulators
of other manufacturers.
The connected devices must have protection class against electrical shock according
to IEC 60601-1:2012.
The cables to connect the devices of other manufacturers are not included
in the delivery set and must be produced according to the recommendations stated
in this annex.
The trig in/out is a double-pin plug of 2.5 mm diameter. It is used as a trig-in
to synchronize the program with the external stimulus and as a trig-out to deliver
the pulse synchronously with the internal stimulators. The plug soldering and trig
pulse parameters are given in Fig. 22.
If the trig in is used, then the negative polarity TTL pulse with not less than 5 µs
duration must be at the input. The pulse droop is considered as the beginning
of synchronization. The synchronization signal is also generated when the input
is connected to the common wire for not less than 5 µs.
When the trig out is used, the negative polarity TTL pulse appears at the output
of each stimulus and its fall corresponds to the beginning of the stimulus.
The trig out pulse duration is 100 µs.
To connect the external devices, use the triple-pin plug of 2.5 mm diameter in a plastic
case. The plug has both trig in and out. The pinout is shown in Fig. 22: 1 – trig in,
2 – trig out, 3 – common.
