EFFECT LOOP TYPE
This selects whether ILLUMINE is installed in a Serial or Parallel effects
loop. The
Parallel
Parallel
setting is equivalent to the “Kill Dry” setting on other
Neunaber pedals. You should only select
Parallel
Parallel
if ILLUMINE is the
only effect in a parallel effects loop. If using more than one effect in a
parallel loop, select
Serial
Serial
.
Which Do I Have?
If you are unsure which loop type you have, it’s most likely a serial
configuration. A pedalboard where effects are connected one after
another in a chain is a serial configuration. An amp/preamp with an
effects loop that is not explicitly labelled as serial or parallel is generally
a serial loop.
A parallel configuration is one in which the effects are processed in a
“sidechain”: a signal path that is split from the main signal path, processed
with effects, then summed back into the main signal path. On amps and
preamps, parallel effects loops are usually explicitly labelled as such.
On a mixer, an auxiliary bus or effects send/return is a parallel
configuration. However, a channel insert is a serial configuration.
IMPORTANT!
This selection is available only when
BYPASS TYPE
=
Buffered
Buffered
, because true bypass defeats ILLUMINE’s
ability to mute the dry signal in the
Parallel
Parallel
setting.
