Installing Feature Packs

Feature Packs

are add-ons that can be installed to add additional features to SmartNA-X device be installed to add extra

port features for aggregation, filtering and load balancing.

Each pack feature pack activates up to any eight device ports across the full compliment of ports that are available. For

example, installing an

Aggregation & Filtering & Load Balancing Feature Pack

allows you set up a configuration with

two ingress ports and up to six egress ports. Configurations with more ports than the allowed limit are rejected by the

system and require the installation of additional Feature Packs before they can be applied successfully.
The following

Feature Packs

are available:

Aggregation & Filtering Feature Pack

•

Aggregation & Filtering & Load Balancing Feature Pack

Installing a Feature Pack

Administrators can install Feature Packs to add additional port capabilities to the system, including filtering and load

balancing. Each Feature Pack adds the advertised capabilities to 12 floating ports.

Click on the chassis and select the

Management

tab.

Click

Install features

, and then click

Continue

You will be logged out and the

Feature pack installation

window will be displayed (

Figure 22

34).

Enter the Administrator username and password, and browse to the feature pack file supplied by Network Critical.

Caution:

Installing an invalid feature pack may disable functionality in your device. Contact Network Critical

Support for advice if you are unsure.
