Using the XAV1401 Powerline Utility 

This chapter explains how to install and use the XAV1401 Powerline Utility. The Powerline Utility 
works with all Powerline AV products. The models XAV101, XAV101v2, XAV1004, XAV1501, 
XAV1601, XAV2001, XAV2501, XAVN2001, XAV5001, XAV5004, XAV5501, and XAV5601 are 
compatible and can share the same powerline network. 

Use the NETGEAR Powerline Utility to:

•     

Configure encryption for your Powerline network

•     

Perform diagnostics and monitor performance

•     

Reset adapters to factory default settings 

Installing the Powerline Utility 

The Powerline utility is a free download available from the NETGEAR support website.

1. 

Launch a browser and visit:

http://www.netgear.fr/home/products/powerline-and-coax/simplesharing/XAVB1401.aspx

2. 

Scroll down to display the download instructions:

3. 

Click the 

Click here to download

 button and download the utility to your computer.

4. 

Run the file that you downloaded, and follow the wizard prompts to install the Powerline 
Utility.
