Chapter 2 Installation
Setup for Windows 98se
1. Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are running the Windows 98se
operating system.
2. Insert the USB head (the A-type connector) into a USB port on your PC. The
system will recognize the device and display “Add New Hardware Wizard”
dialog box. Put the “USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet Adapter” driver CD into CD-
ROM and then press the “Next” button.
3. Select “Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)”, press the
“Next” button.
4. Select “Specify a location” and press the “Next” button.
5. After Windows finds the driver, press the “Next” button.
6. Windows may request for you to “Please insert the disk labeled ‘Windows
98se CD-ROM’, and then click OK.” Follow the instructions and input the
CD-ROM or disks as needed, direct Windows to the proper location, and then
click the “OK” button.
7. When Windows finished the installation, the “USB 2.0 10/100 Ethernet
Adapter” dialog box will appear, then click the “Finish” button .
8. System will ask you “Do you want to restart your computer now?”. Click
“Yes” to restart your computer.
9. After the computer is restarted, the network function will be ready.
