Disable nouveau.
NOTE:
In this procedure, a boot image file which does not load the nouveau driver
is created. Please check the procedure before execution and carefully execute
it in consideration of your environment.
Use the following procedure to create a boot image file that does not load the nouveau driver.
1)
Create the following file in the following directory, describe the contents and save it.
Directory :
/etc/modprobe.d/
Filename
:
blacklist-nouveau.conf
Descriptions :

Execute the following command to create a boot image file.
# dracut –-force
※
By executing this command, you can create a boot image file that does not load the nouveau
driver at boot time.
3)
Please reboot OS.
After rebooting, start the terminal and execute the following command to check that
nouveau is not loaded.
# lsmod | grep nouveau
If the X-Window System is running, exit according to step 4.

Create a Xorg.conf file.
Please advance towards procedure 7 when the equipment that tries to be installed is except
R120i-2M.
It creates the Xorg.conf file beforehand before installing this product when using a GUI
(graphical user interface) in RHEL 8.3 on R120i-2M.
※Please advance towards procedure 8 when there isn't using GUI.
If the X-Window System is running, exit according to step 4.

It executes a following command, starting up a terminal, and generates the start-up
parameter file xorg.conf of X-Window.
#Xorg –confiure
xorg.conf.new is generated in a directory login home. Please change the name of
xorg.conf.new to xorg.conf. Then, please move it to a / etc/X11 directory.
The following contents are sometimes output lastly when executing Xorg -configure but a
xorg.conf.new file is generated normally.
※After processing of Xorg.conf, please shut down the OS once and refer to the user's guide
of the equipment and install this product.
blacklist nouveau
options nouveau modeset=0
