(3) The Number of Hot Spare Disk Drive
• There is no upper limit for the number of hot spare disks.
• Bind hot spare disks when NL-SAS disk drives are in the system.
• Refer to the table below for the recommended numbers of hot spare disks for each type of disk
drive.

SAS SSD
Hot spare is optional. Because SAS SSD does not have mechanical parts
such as motors, heads and media, it is reliable. Therefore, hot spare is not
necessary.
