Changing Exciter Transfer Settings
If your transmitter contains dual exciters, you can control the auto exciter transfer function using the
remote AUI (see
Exciter Changeover Settings - Using the Remote AUI ) or using the local front panel UI
(see Exciter Changeover Settings - Using the Front Panel, on page 3.2.183 ).
Exciter Changeover Settings - Using the Remote AUI
To view the
Changeover
page (see Figure 3.2.166 ), select
Changeover
from the
Menu
options or click
on the
Active Exciter
area in the top, right-hand corner of the remote AUI. The
Changeover
page is
only displayed on the Main Menu window and the Active Exciter click shortcut is only available when
dual exciters are installed.

Active Exciter
-
indicates the exciter that is currently active (also displayed in the top, right
corner of the remote AUI).

Main Exciter
- indicates (in green) which exciter is considered to be the primary exciter.
Select
A
or
B
. The default exciter is
A
if the
Standby Exciter
is set to
No
.
NOTE:
Changing
the setting may change the active exciter.

Auto Exciter Changeover
- indicates (in green) if automatic exciter changeover is enabled.
Select
Yes
if automatic changeover is desired or
No
if user selected changeover is desired.
NOTE:
you cannot change the setting if the
Standby Exciter
is set to
No.

Standby Exciter
- identifies whether or not a standby exciter is available. This is factory set
and only requires adjustment if an exciter is removed or not functional.
Yes
indicates that a
standby operation is available or desired. No indicates that a standby operation is not
available or desired.
