Start Up Instructions After Installation
We have intentionally placed these first for easy access and system start up.
Please make sure ALL connections are made and secure without over-tightening. Pay special attention to the back-
washing line to drain.
1.
Water off, system in Bypass, hot water heater off and water to heater off
2.
Leave post system shut off turned off (if you put one in - not required)
3.
Plug system in to electrical outlet
4.
Set date and time
5.
Turn water on
6.
Press the Manual backwash button to start a manual backwash cycle
7.
Immediately unplug the head, leaving it in backwash
8.
SLOWLY open the bypass to tank and allow water to fill tank and start to flow out to drain. Important to
do this slowly so media does not get forced up into the head…about 1/4 way open on bypass.
9.
Allow water to flow to drain until clear
10.
Plug the head back in to the electrical outlet
11.
Advance the backwash cycle to Fast Drain
12.
Allow the system to finish the rest of the backwash cycle
13.
Once complete press the manual backwash and let it cycle all the way through
14.
Repeat # 13 again
15.
Run closest cold faucet for 20 min, ensure water is clear
16.
Turn on water to hot water heater, turn heater on when tank is full
17.
Confirm time setting and future backwash time(s)
NOTE TO END-USER OR YOUR CUSTOMER: There may be some water that looks "gray" over the next 7 to 10 days.
This is normal and just loose carbon. Let the water run for a minute or two and it will clear up.
