Introduction

VXI-8340 Series User Manual

industry-standard I/O library, to communicate with GPIB, VXI, PXI,
TCP/IP, or Serial devices using the same set of components.

If you want to use any of these application programs, install them
before the NI-VISA/NI-VXI software installation. Both LabVIEW and
Measurement Studio integrate the VXI and VISA libraries that are required
to support your PCI-based MXI-3 products. You also get hundreds of
complete instrument drivers, which are modular, source-code programs
that handle the communication with your instrument to speed your
application development.
