Phase Matrix PXI-1420 MW Downconverter Module
Quick Start Guide
•
directly to the RF A IN connector, in a range of 2.75 GHz to
26.5 GHz.
The maximum operating power applied to the PXI-1420’s input
connector (RF A IN 2.75 GHz to 26.5 GHz) is -40 dBm.
The PXI-1420 is designed to operate with signals below -40 dBm.
Operation above -40 dBm is allowed with degraded performance.
•
(preselected/attenuated) through the PXI-1410 Preselector Module’s
RF A IN connector, out of its RF A OUT connector, and in through
the RF A IN connector of the PXI-1420
MW Downconverter Module.
LO A IN
SMA (f) connector is used to deliver the LO signal from the
PXI-1450B Local Oscillator Module, into the front panel of the
PXI-1420 MW Downconverter Module.
This LO signal is used to down convert the microwave signal that is
input to the RF A IN connector and produce a 250 MHz IF OUT; see the
description for the IF A OUT connector.
VIDEO OUT
SMB (m) connector is used to output the video output
signal which is enabled at all times. The video output is a DC level
which is representative of the total signal power contained within the
IF passband of the system.
AUX IN
SMB (m) connector is used to input an externally generated
IF signal (100 kHz to 425 MHz) that bypasses the down conversion
process of the PXI-1420; this IF signal is directly available from the
IF A OUT connector.
IF B OUT on the PXI-1430 RF Downconverter Module can also be
directly connected to this AUX IN. This allows switching of the
IF output signals between the PXI-1420 MW Downconverter Module
and the PXI-1430 RF Downconverter Module without the use of the
PXI-1440 IF Downconverter Module.
C A U T I O N
The maximum power input to the AUX IN connector must not 10 dBm!
C A U T I O N
The maximum power output of the IF A OUT connector can 20 dBm!
Care should be used when connecting this IF A OUT to a digitizer or other equipment.
When the IF A OUT normal operating range is exceeded, the overload indicator will be
illuminated. (Refer to
