NI 9411 Operating Instructions and Specifications

Each channel has two pins, DIa and DIb, to which yo

u

can

connect digital inp

u

t signals. The DSUB connector also provides

two connections for s

u

pplying power to an external device and

a connection for common. The NI 9411 also has a 2-terminal
screw-terminal connector that provides connections for an external
power s

u

pply.

If yo

u

do not have a 5 V power s

u

pply to directly power the

external device or if yo

u

want to simplify wiring, yo

u

can connect

an external power s

u

pply to the V

s

u

p

and COM terminals on the

NI 9411 screw-terminal connector, and connect the external device
to one of the



5 V

o

u

t

pins. If the external device is already powered,

yo

u

do not need to connect a power s

u

pply to the NI 9411 or

connect the +5 V

o

u

t

pin to the external device. Refer to the

Specifications

section for information abo

u

t the external power

s

u

pply specifications.

Connecting Differential Devices to the NI 9411
