This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifi ed service agency in accordance with the 
manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having 
jurisdiction.  If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fi re, explosion or 
production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss 
of life.  The qualifi ed service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit.  The 
installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked 
as specifi ed in the owner instructions supplied with the kit.

CAUTION: Before proceeding with the conversion, shut off the gas supply fi rst and then disconnect the electrical 
power.

1.  Remove the door, logs, and panels from the ap-

pliance (see the “fi nishing” section of your installa-
tion manual).

2.  Remove the 7 screws that secure the log cover in 

place. Lift the cover out 

(Fig. 1)

.

3.  Remove the 2 screws holding the burner tube, 

then slide it to the left, up, and out 

(Fig. 2)

.

4.  Remove the orifi ce and replace it with the orifi ce 

supplied (use pipe thread compound).

5.  Adjust the air shutter according to the table lo-

cated on the back of this page.

6.  To convert the main valve to the desired fuel, fol-

low the instructions that are supplied with the SIT regulator assembly.

7.  Remove the pilot hood from the pilot assembly by pulling vertically. Use an Allen key to unscrew the 

injector 

(Fig. 3)

. Replace the pilot injector with the one supplied. Re-assembly the pilot hood onto 

the assembly ensuring key position for proper alignment.

8.  The conversion data label must be fi lled out and attached adjacent to the valve.
9.  Turn on the gas supply and check for gas leaks by brushing on a soap and water solution.

Do not 

use open fl ame.

10.  Re-install the burner and log cover, then light the pilot and main burner to ensure that the gas lines 

have been purged.

 Purge all gas lines with the glass door off.

 Refer to the lighting instructions in 

your appliance installation manual. Once all systems have been checked, replace the logs.

11.  Ensure there is a continuous fl ow at the burner before replacing the door.

 Turn on all electrical 

supply to the appliance.
