6.8  FIREBRICK AND BAFFLE INSTALLATION

OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE WITHOUT THE BAFFLES CAN RESULT IN EXCESSIVE 

TEMPERATURES THAT COULD DAMAGE THE APPLIANCE, CHIMNEY AND THE 

SURROUNDING ENCLOSURE.

Place the side and rear firebricks against the wall. 

For easy start up open the by-pass damper.

Place the by-pass damper
on the supports at the rear 
and sides of the firebox.

BY-PASS IN “CLOSED” POSITION

SIDE VIEW

BY-PASS IN “OPEN” POSITION

The by-pass damper should be in the "OPEN" position when using the spark screen, during start-up, when 
loading fuel and in warmer months where less heat is preferred.

The by-pass damper should be in the "CLOSED" position when the doors are closed and proper chimney  
draw is established.
