Rinse and dump the well three times with TRASAR Calibration Standard
S0920.
9.
After dumping the third rinse, fill the well with S0920 calibration standard.
10. Press the “READ/ENT” button
11. The screen will blink “MEAS” several times (for about 10-20 seconds).
12. If the calibration is successful, the display will show a reading for the
calibration solution of between 190 and 210 ppm, and you are now ready to
begin testing. If the solution reads outside this range, please repeat the
calibration procedure.
Procedure for testing the Pen Fluorometer Calibration
1.
Make sure plug is in bottom of pen fluorometer, hold pen horizontally.
2.
Rinse and dump the well three times with S0920 calibration solution.
3.
After dumping the third rinse, fill the well with S0920 solution.
4.
Press “READ/ENT” on controller.
5.
The screen will blink “MEAS - - - -”. After a few seconds, a reading will
appear.
6.
If the Pen Fluorometer is calibrated properly, the display will read between
190 and 210 ppm. If the reading is outside this range, recalibrate the pen.
TRAC107 Test Procedure
1.
Collect the chill water system sample that you would like to measure.
2.
Fill 25ML graduated cylinder to the 5ML mark with chill water sample. Fill
to the 20ML line with Distilled Water (using syringe for distilled water will
simplify this step) and mix sample in graduated cylinder
3.
Make sure plug is in bottom of pen fluorometer, hold pen horizontally.
4.
Rinse and dump sample in the well three times with sample from step #2.
5.
After dumping the third rinse, fill the well with sample from step #2.
6.
Press “READ/ENT” on controller.
7.
The screen will blink “MEAS - - - -”. After a few seconds, a reading will
appear.
8.
Note the reading on the screen from step #7.
9.
Multiply the reading from step#7 by 40. This is your TRAC107 reading in
ppm. The recommended range for TRAC107 is 2000-2200 ppm.
