7-3 Adjusting the Brake Force
(1) Remove the center cap with the CONPAL unit still installed on the Rollator. (Figure 7)
(2) Rotate the tire and align the wheel (outer) adjustment window and adjuster position. (Figure 8)
(3) Insert the provided hexagonal wrench into the hexagonal hole of the adjuster.
(4) Adjust the brake force by turning the hexagonal wrench and aligning the arrow of the adjuster to the desired
position. (Figure 8)
For the respective adjustment positions for low, medium, and high brake forces, see Figures 9-11.
(5) Once adjustment is completed, remove the hexagonal wrench and install the center cap.
(6) Verify that the brakes operate at the same level on both the left and right wheels.
・
Do not insert fingers into the adjustment window. Finger insertion results in the risk of injury.
・
Distributors and therapists should always adjust the brakes in accordance with the level of the user.
Brake force and user movement mismatch may lead to unanticipated falling.
・
There are three adjustment levels. Rotating the adjuster excessively damages the adjuster. Caution is
required.
・
Do not rotate the tire with the hexagonal wrench inserted as is. Doing so results in the risk of adjuster
damage.
・
Set the same adjustment levels on the left and right. Left and right brake force mismatch may lead to
unanticipated falling.
