Installation
One source unit can be connected to one receiver unit using a CAT5/6 cable. To install
the unit, perform the following steps:
Caution:
Do not attempt to open the housing. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside the unit. Opening the unit will void your warranty.
Do not connect the unit to a telecommunication outlet wired to unrelated
equipment. Making such a connection may damage the equipment and/or
the unit. Verify that the desired twisted pairs are not being used for other
LAN or telephone equipment.
1.
Use a dedicated 4-pair Cat5e/6 cable between the source and the receiver unit.
2.
Patch panels are compatible.
3.
Verify the wiring is “straight-through”, has 4 twisted pairs and has the standard Ethernet
RJ45 connector.
4.
Connect the 5V power supply to one side only. Any side can be used.
5.
Connect the unit to the audio source, either by coax source or optic. On the source
side, select which type of input is used. Both sides can be connected but only one is
used to transmit audio. At the receiver side both outputs will contain the same
signal. Note that some AV system may require that you connect only one signal.
