ADJUSTING THE MODULATOR VIDEO GAIN
The WISI OV series modules each have a small LCD display and a set of four buttons for
making adjustments, via a simple menu system. Normally, the display shows the model number
(e.g. OV35A) and output frequency in MegaHertz (e.g. 506.25).
Locate the appropriate WISI modulator. Press any button to turn on the backlight, and display
the first four menu items, with a flashing block cursor on the top item. Press the
DOWN
button 4
times, until the cursor is on V-Gain. Press the
RIGHT
button to access the adjustment menu.
This should read V-Gain and Auto. Press the
UP
button 5 or 6 times, to set the gain to standard
(5) or slightly reduced (6). (A higher gain number denotes a lower video gain, to suit a higher
video signal level). After about 30 seconds, the display reverts to its normal model and
frequency display, and the backlight turns off.
NOTE: Be careful not to change any settings
other than Video Gain.
Note that, if setting the V-Gain back to Auto for any reason, the picture may be unstable until a
suitable (usually dark) image is displayed.
