8.3.2 Crankcase breather – Filter element replacement

Engine is stopped and starting disabled.

WARNING

Oil is hot.
Oil can contain residue/substances which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Allow the product to cool to below 50 °C before beginning work.
• Wear protective clothing, protective gloves and goggles/safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.

Replacing filter element

1.

Loosen clamps (1) from rubber sleeve (2) and
remove hose from cover (3).

2.

Loosen clamp (6) and remove cover (3).

3.

Remove air filter (5) with filter mounts (4).

4.

Remove O-ring (7) from adapter.

5.

Coat new O-ring (7) with assembly compound
and insert in groove on adapter.

6.

Insert filter holder (4) in correct position in
adapter.

7.

Place new air filter (5) in correct position on
filter holder (4).

8.

Insert filter holder (4) in correct position in
cover (3) and fit cover (3).

9.

Coat thread and nut mating face on clamp (6)
with engine oil.

10.

Tighten clamp (6) to specified tightening torque.

Install hose and tighten clamp (1) on rubber sleeve (2) to specified torque using a torque wrench.
