WARNING: 

Never operate the mower without the

proper trail shield, mulch plug, side discharge
deflector, motor/blade control or other safety
protective devices in place and working. Never
operate the mower with damaged safety devices.
Failure to do so can result in personal injury.

Attaching The Side Discharge Deflector

To convert your mower from a mulcher to a side 
discharge mower:

Lift the mulching plug. 

Slide the two hooks on the side discharge deflector 
under the hinge pin on the mulching plug assembly 
as shown in Figure 5.

Lower the mulching plug. Do not remove the 
mulching plug at any time, even when you are not 
mulching.
