MAINTENANCE
• The user must ensure that:
- The ear muffs are fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance with the manufactur-
er’s instructions.
- The ear muffs are worn at all times in a noise hazard environment.
• Ear muffs and in particular cushions may deteriorate with use and should be examined
at frequent intervals for cracking and leakage, for example.
• At the beginning of each shift the cushions of the ear muffs should be inspected for
damage or distortion. If any distortion or damage is observed the cushions must be
replaced (fig. F). Replacement cushions and special inserts are contained in the Sordin
60084 hygiene pack. Finally, check the headband to ensure it is flexible and still main-
tains sufficient force to hold the ear cups firmly to the side of the head.
• If the ear muffs can not be cleaned or damaged component can not be replaced, dis-
pose of the ear muffs and obtain a new set.
• Long term use of the ear muffs may create some moisture build-up inside the cups.
Although the circuit board is specially coated to help prevent any possibility of corrosion
damage it is advisable to remove the inserts regularly to allow the electronic compo-
nents to dry out overnight (fig. F)
• Do not subject the product to rough handling which can damage the electronics.
• NOTE! The cups must not be immersed in water.
STORAGE
When not in use, store the ear muffs in a clean dry atmosphere, away from direct sun-
light.
The product shall be stored within the temperature range -20˚C to +70˚C.
If the product is stored for a prolonged period it is recommended to remove the batter-
ies from the battery compartment to prevent damage. Store the product in an unfolded
position in order to avoid damage to the cushions.
