Complete RCL Calibration

The steps required to complete RCL calibration are provided in 

Figure 2-40

.  The IF cable loss must be determined for each 

input before proceeding.  Look up your cable specifications and 
calculate the loss at approximately 500 MHz.  As an example, for 
Belden 7731A cable, the loss per 100 ft. at 540 MHz is 3.06 dB.  
If you have 200 feet of cable, the loss is approximately 6 dB.
