• Wilful modifications or changes to the machine shall
relieve the manufacturer of its responsibility for any
damage whatsoever.
• The wood splitter can only be operated by persons
who have been acquainted with these instructions
and informed of any possible hazards.
• Any repairs of the wood splitter can only be performed
by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre.
Residual Hazards
In spite of all the presented warnings, some hidden ha-
zards can still exist.
Even if the machine is used in accordance with all
the safety instructions, it is still necessary to take
into account some residual hazards that exist due
to the nature of the machine's design and use.
These residual hazards can only be minimised if you ca-
refully read and respect the Safety Instructions, Opera-
ting Instructions and Machine Purpose of Use section.
Be careful when working with the machine to minimise
the risk of injury or other damage.
• If the safety instructions and precautions are ignored
or neglected, this can result in injury to the operator
or other persons, or damage to property.
• Carelessness, not observing the safety regulati-
ons and misuse can result in hand or finger injuries
caused by the moving splitting wedge.
• Using unsuitable electrical cables or connection to
the power supply can cause electric shock.
• Do not touch the live electrical components when
their covers are open.
Safety at Work
Read and observe all the instructions included
in this manual as well as all the regulations
applicable to this type of machine in your country. By
doing so, you will protect yourself and others from
possible injury.
All the safety instructions must be available to any
person working with this machine.
Store this manual, including the safety instructions, in
a safe place.
• Be cautious. Be careful about what you are doing. Be
conscientious when working.
This machine must not be used by:
− persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensorial or mental capabilities, or who lack experi-
ence and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instructions concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety;
− persons who have not been thoroughly acquainted
with the machine's operation according to this manual;
− persons under the influence of medicaments or other
substances reducing their ability to quickly respond.
Secure the machine so that unattended children cannot
reach it. Momentary carelessness when using the ma-
chine can result in serious injury.
• Use this manual to make yourself familiar with the
machine before putting it into operation.
• Do not use the machine for purposes other than tho-
se described in this manual.
• Choose a safe work area.
• Assume the proper working posture at the operating
handles.
• Never step on the machine.
• Wear protective goggles or face mask, ear protec-
tors, protective gloves, and safety steel toe cap
shoes when working with the machine. Do not wear
loose clothes or jewellery, which could be caught by
the moving parts of the machine.
• During work, the operator of the machine is responsi-
ble for other persons.
• Children and young persons under 18 years are not
allowed to operate the machine.
• Always keep children away from the machine work area.
• Never leave the machine when other persons are nearby.
• Do not leave the machine unattended.
• Keep the work area tidy. Mess can result in injury.
• Do not overload the machine. The results of your work will
be better if you observe the specified performance data.
• Operate the machine only with properly mounted
protective elements and do not make any changes
affecting safety at work.
• Do not modify the machine and do not change its parts.
• Do not splash the machine with water (danger of
electric shock).
• Do not expose the machine to rain and do not work
with it in the rain.
• Store the machine in a dry place out of reach of children.
• Always disconnect the machine from the power
supply when:
− performing repairs
− performing maintenance and cleaning
− troubleshooting
− checking the power supply cable for tangling or damage
− transporting it
− leaving the machine unattended (even briefly)
– carrying out adjustments
• Check the machine for possible damage:
− Before starting work, always carefully check the
protective elements for proper operation.
− Check all the moving parts for proper operation, free
motion and damage. Check them also for correct in-
stallation. These parts must comply with the require-
ments for flawless and safe operation of the machine.
− Damaged safety elements or other parts must be
replaced or repaired by an authorised provider (un-
less specified otherwise in this manual).
− Damaged or illegible safety labels on the machine
must be replaced.
Beware of moving parts!
• Before starting work, check the hydraulic tubes and hoses.
• Beware of hazards resulting from the specific properties of
the split wood (e.g., knots, irregular shape of the log, etc.)
