keep at least 30 metres between the machine
and other people or animals.

IF USING THE MACHINE ON SLOPING
GROUND, always remain below the cutting
assembly. DO NOT USE THE MACHINE if
there is even a slight risk of slipping or overba-
lancing.

DO NOT USE the machine CONTINUOUSLY,
for lengthy periods. PAUSE EVERY SO
OFTEN, switching off the motor.

BRUSH CUTTER USE

WARNING

Read the Safety measures chapter of this
manual very carefully.

RELEASING THE CUTTING LINE

ATTENTION:
DO NOT USE different components to the head
with nylon line. DO NOT USE lines that are not
nylon (such as metal wire, plastic-coated metal
wire) and/or are unsuitable for the head used.
This could cause serious wounds and injuries.

To release new line: with the motor at full speed,
knock the head with nylon line against the ground
(Fig.11A). Line is released automatically and the
blade cuts the excess line.

PRECAUTIONS: periodically remove strands
that become wound around the machine to pre-
vent the drive shaft from overheating. When
grass gets caught around the shaft, it can
become wound under the grass cutting head
guard slowing component rotation (fig. 11B).
Remove any grass caught up using a screw-
driver or other similar tool to allow the shaft to
be correctly  cooled and the component to
rotate freely.

CUTTING PROCEDURE

When the machine is correctly equipped with guard
and head with nylon line, it can eliminate high
grass and unsightly weeds – in front of fences,
walls, foundations, pavements, around trees, etc..
This machine can also be used to eliminate
unwanted vegetation from the field, for easy prepa-
ration of the garden or to clean a particular area of
the garden completely.

NOTE:

Even with the guard fitted, cutting beside

pavements, foundations, walls, etc. can cause
above average wear on the line.

CUT / MOVEMENT

Walk at a regular pace, moving from side to side,
similar to traditional scything. Do not tilt the head
with nylon line during operation. Try cutting a small
area at the correct height. Keep the head with
nylon line at a constant distance from the ground to
obtain an even cutting height (Fig. 12).

PRECISION CUT

Position the brush cutter straight, slightly tilted until
the lower part of the head touches the ground and
the cutting line is in the required point. Always cut
away from the operator. Do not move the brush cut-
ter by bringing the head with nylon line towards the
operator.

CUTTING BESIDE FENCES / FOUNDATIONS

Bring the head with nylon line slowly towards fences,
posts, rocks, walls, etc. without hitting them hard.
If the line comes into contact with rocks, walls,
foundations etc. it may break or wear. If the line
gets caught up in fencing it may get cut, or break
suddenly.

CUTTING AROUND TREES

Cut by gradually approaching the trunks of trees to
prevent impact between the line and the tree.
Walk around the tree from left to right.
Move the end of the line towards the grass to cut,
keeping the head with nylon line tilted slightly for-
wards.

NOTE:

The nylon line may CUT OR DAMAGE

SMALL BUSHES. The impact of the nylon line
against the trunk of bushes or trees with soft bark
MAY CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE PLANT.

ATTENTION:

Take great care when mowing. Keep a distance of
30 metres between the machine and other people
or animals.

MOWING

In more severe mowing conditions tilt the head with
nylon line about 30 degrees to the left. Adjust the
handgrip if you wish to obtain better control during
this operation. Do not operate in this way if there is
even a slight chance of throwing up foreign bodies
that could harm people, animals or other objects
(Fig.13).

ATTENTION:
DO NOT SWEEP WITH THE BRUSH CUTTER tilt-
ing the head with nylon line. Do not use the
machine to sweep away dirt from pavements
etc.. Your machine is powerful and could cause
small stones etc. to be thrown over 15 m, caus-
ing wounds, injuries to people and animals or
damage to nearby objects, such as cars, win-
dows, etc. (Fig.14).
