96 - Getting More Out of Your Phone

Making a Data or Fax Call

You can connect your phone to a computer or hand-held device to
send data or a fax from the connected device.

Attach the cable (see page 95) and do the following:

Receiving a Data or Fax Call

You can connect your phone to a computer or hand-held device to
receive data or a fax.

Use this feature to transfer data to your computer from another
device.

Transfer the Data or Fax

Connect your phone (see page 95).

Your phone notifies you when the call arrives, and transfers the call
to the connected device. You must use the application running on
the connected device to answer the call.

Do This

Check the phone

make sure that the phone is
connected and powered on

Open the
application on
your computer

place the call through the
application (such as
dial-up-networking)

Note: You cannot dial data or 
fax numbers through your 
phone’s keypad. You must dial 
them through your computer.

End the transfer
on your computer

close the call and connection
when the transfer is complete
