Installation Procedure

The installation procedure that follows is for a typical passenger car. The
procedure may vary slightly with the type of vehicle on which the antenna is to be
installed. Generally, however, the procedure outlined below is universal in nature.

Antenna Installation

1. Select a location for the antenna on the windshield. The antenna should be on

the PASSENGER side, close to the TOP, and on the FRONT WINDSHIELD
only. Make sure the antenna does not obstruct the view of the driver. For opti-
mum performance, a higher location on the windshield is better than a lower
one.

NOTE:

Do not mount the antenna to the dashboard or the rear deck as the antenna
may obstruct the view of the vehicle driver as well as effect optimal RF per-
formance.

Check the antenna location for any electrical interference. Keep away from
metallic tint, defroster wires, or other obstructions on the windshield.

Keep WIFI Antenna at least one inch away from windshield edge and car
chassis metal.

2. Make sure the antenna is vertically polarized, so the radiation pattern is omni-

directional.

3. Test fit the antenna on the selected area prior to removing the release liner

from the tape on the antenna’s mounting surface.

4. Probe the headlining with your fingers to make sure that all points of obstruc-

tion are avoided.

5. Determine the routing of the cable from the antenna to the radio set, and then

remove the molding and trim necessary to facilitate pulling the cable through.

NOTE:

If you experience difficulty with cable routing, use an electrician's

fishtape to perform this step.

6. Make sure the mounting glass surface is clean and free of debris. Clean sur-

face area with a lint-free cloth using isopropyl alcohol to remove any residue
grease or dirt buildup.

7. Remove the release liner and carefully position the antenna above the

selected mounting area.

8. Place the antenna on the mounting surface and apply even pressure to allow

the foam tape to conform to the windshield curvature.
