Java Apps Memory

If you want to use custom Java applications in your phone, you must have
enough memory in your phone to store and run the custom application you want.
If you do not have enough memory, you can deinstall an application (see
“Deinstalling Java Apps” on page 162) or delete a Voice Record (see “Locking/
Unlocking a Voice Record” on page 150) to free some memory.

You can check to see how much Data, Program, and Heap memory your
phone has free:

•

Data refers to the memory used to store application data, such as image
files. Data memory determines memory space available to download
additional Java applications.

•

Program refers to the memory used to install and run applications.

•

Heap refers to the Random Access Memory (RAM) available to run a Java
application.

To check how much memory your phone has available for Java applications:

NOTE: Java application data and Voice Records share the same

memory space on your phone. Using a large amount of memory
to store Voice Records reduces the space available for Java
application data. You can create more memory space to
download Java applications by deleting stored Voice Records.
See “Deleting Voice Record” on page 150.

Deinstalling Java Apps

To remove Java applications from your phone:
