EMC Compliance

The Gigabit Ethernet/82543 PMC Module is an add-on module meant to
be used in conjunction with standard SBC or carrier card. As such, it is the
responsibility of the OEM to meet the regulatory guidelines as determined
by their application.

The Gigabit Ethernet/82543 PMC Module has been tested in conjunction
with a standard Embedded Communications Computing baseboard and
chassis for CE certification and meets the requirements for EN55022 Class
A equipment. Compliance was achieved under the following conditions:

❏

Shielded cables on all external I/O ports

❏

Cable shields connected to earth ground via metal shell connectors
bonded to a conductive module front panel

❏

Conductive chassis rails connected to earth ground which provides
the path for connecting shields to earth ground

❏

Front panel screws properly tightened

For minimum RF emissions, it is essential that the conditions above be
implemented. Failure to do so could compromise the EMC compliance of
the equipment containing the module.
