CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To avoid corrosion as a consequence of condensation formation, the grill must always cool down
completely before being covered.
CAUTION:
All cleaning and maintenance shall take place when the grill has cooled off, the gas sup-
ply switched off at control buttons, and the connection to the gas cylinder likewise switched off. DO
NOT attempt to clean any part of the grill in a self-cleaning oven. The extreme heat will destroy the
grill’s surface treatment..
Clean the burner assembly
Letting the oven burn off (for approx. 15 minutes) after each use will prevent the accumulation of
food scraps.
Recommended cleaning materials:
A mild dishwashing soap
Hot water
Cleaning sponges of nylon
Heat-resistant acrylic brush
Paper clips
Spatula/scraper
Compressed air.
DO NOT USE
cleaning agents containing mineral turpentine or xylene.
Exterior surfaces
Clean with a mild solution of dishwater soap and hot water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Interior surfaces
A. If the interior surface of the cast top of the grill looks like peeling paint, this is owing to burnt fat
that has turned into soot which will come off in flakes. Clean thoroughly, using a strong solution
of cleaning agent and hot water. Rinse with water and let the surface become quite dry.
B. The enamelled cast iron is easy to clean. Brush away food scraps and use only hot water. Sticky
food scraps are removed after a light soak in water. It is not recommended to soak the grilling
grid for a longer period of time, though. We recommend that the grid be washed off prior to its
first use. The grid is NOT dishwasher-proof, however!
C. The interior of the grill’s base: Any deposits are removed using a brush, scraper, and/or pot
scrubbing sponge. Use a solution of dishwashing soap and hot water. Rinse with water and leave
to dry. Heating plates: Deposits are removed by a wire brush and soapy water. Rinse with water.
Storage
1. Store the grill in a shady, cool, and dry place.
2. Be sure to protect against dust and moisture.
3. Store the grill away from children.
4. Clean the grill after use and leave it to air-dry before storage.
