INSTALLATION & OPERATION PRECAUTIONS
Studies have shown that the induction element presents no danger. However, as a precaution for
persons using a pacemaker, please keep 12 inches ( 30cm ) from the unit while in operation.
The top is made from a strong non-porous material. However, in case of cracking or breakage,
discontinue using the unit and disconnect the power immediately.
Do not place spoons, kitchen utensils, knives, pan lids or other small objects on the cooking
surface while the unit is operating, as they may also become hot. The unit is equipped with a
“small object detector” to prevent small objects from accidentally heating if placed on the cooking
surface of the unit by themselves. However, if they are placed on the unit with a suitable piece of
cookware that activates the unit, the smaller object may also become hot.
Keep all magnetic security strips commonly found on credit cards or a drivers license away from
the unit as the unit’s magnetic field will damage the information on the security strip.
Use a dedicated grounded electrical circuit with the specified voltage rating provided on the
nameplate.
Place the induction range on a flat, horizontal surface, with at least 4 inches of space from any
other object.
Insure proper ventilation for the cooling fans. ( Do not block air intakes or exhausts. )
Use cookware at least 4.5 inches in diameter.
Do not place empty cookware on cooking surfaces while the range is turned on. ( Exceptions are
for stir-fry and searing meat. )
Use more oil ( liquid ) than you would with conventional cook-tops.
Do not touch the cook surface after use. Although the induction cook-top itself does not produce
heat, the surface will be hot from the cookware and can cause burns.
Never place any objects in the air intake. ( Shock Hazard )
Never place this unit in or near water.
Never allow children to use any cook-top without adult supervision.
If this unit malfunctions in any way, first look at the troubleshooting section of this manual, then
contact the nearest service facility for repair.
Do not operate unit if it has been damaged or is malfunctioning in any way.
Do not place this unit near open flames, electrical burners, or any other heat source.
Never heat sealed cans. This will cause pressure to build up in the can and may cause an
explosion.
Let the cook-top cool before moving.
NEVER MOVE WHILE IN USE.
