Curve table and acceleration curve
The curve table represents the course of the
acceleration curve for the channels X, Y, Z and the
magnitude R. On the top of the table
,
the time stamp
of the curve can be seen. Right-clicking opens further
analysis windows as well as export and print
functions. The acceleration curve shows the same
content of data in graphical form as the curve table.
FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) and
octave analysis
The Fourier transformation represents the root mean
square (RMS) values of specific frequencies. This
way, it is possible to recognize the strength of
specific frequency bands. This can be useful
because high frequency ranges of shocks are not
always critical for cargo. The ordinate of the
frequency analysis is normalized to 1 g and
scaled in dB.
The octave analysis is the arithmetic mean of the
FFT for specific frequency ranges. The calculation is
carried out before the values are normalized for the
dB scale. Therefore

it has the unit of the
acceleration. Using the drop down menu
,
the channel for the octave analysis can be selected.
PSD
–
Power Spectral Density
The PSD represents the potential power of a
particular frequency range of a random
acceleration signal. This frequency range
(Bandwidth) can be configured under
“Options
Spectrum”
. The calculation is based on the
unnormalized result of the FFT. The unit is the
square of the acceleration per frequency ([
𝑔
2
/𝐻𝑧
]).
