2 Safety Notes

This monitor corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.

The monitor is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range: 0 – 40 °C).

If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not operated in the correct way or
not repaired by skilled personnel, no liability for any
damage will be accepted.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.

If the unit is to be put out of operation permanently,
take it to a local recycling plant for disposal.

3 Applications

These LCD colour monitors in TFT active matrix tech-
nology offer a sharp and high-contrast display. They
are suitable for universal application, e. g. in monitor-
ing systems, in car rear monitoring systems (mirror-
inverted display can be selected) or for multimedia ap-
plications. The audio input allows sound reproduction
via an additional small speaker or headphones.

4 Installation

Model TVLCD-402COL

Insert four screws through the mounting holes on
the front panel to fix the monitor to the desired
location.

Model TVLCD-412COL

The monitor can be used as table top unit or can be
mounted onto a support by means of the 6.3 mm
(

") thread on the bottom side.

5 Connection

1) Connect one or two video cameras to the video

inputs V

I

and V

II

(9).

2) If a further monitor is required e. g. for a monitoring

system, connect the video output VIDEO out (7) to
the video input of the second monitor.

3) If a sound reproduction is required as well, connect

the sound source (microphone of the camera or
separate microphone with preamplifier) to the
audio input AUDIO in (8) and connect a small
speaker or headphones to the 3.5 mm jack PHONE
(4). The impedance (connected load) of the speak-
er or of the headphones must be at least 8

.

4) For power supply connect an electronically reg-

ulated 12 V power supply unit (e. g. PS-1204ST or
PS-1615ST by MONACOR) to the jack DC 12V
(11). The positive pole must be at the centre
contact. A low voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (Ø out-
side/inside) is required for connection.

6 Operation

1) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (5).

2) Select the desired video input with the selector

V

II

/

I

(10).

3) Adjust an optimum picture with the brightness and

contrast controls (1 and 2).

4) Select the picture display with the selector L/R (6):

R = normal display
L = mirror-inverted display

5) Adjust the desired volume with the volume con-

trol (3).

CAUTION: Never adjust adjust a very high volume
when using headphones. Permanent high volume
may damage your hearing! The human ear will get
accustomed to high volume which does not seem to
be that high after some time. Therefore, do not fur-
ther increase a high volume after getting used to it.
