Attention High Voltage!
With this multimeter voltages dangerous to life can
be measured.
•
At first connect the multimeter with the measur-
ing points and then switch on the circuit to be
tested.
•
Watch that the measuring cables are perfectly in-
sulated and that the cables are fully plugged into
the measuring jacks.
DC voltage measurement
The rotary switch is set from the OFF to the V (Volt)
position: The multimeter is switched on and ready
for DC voltage measurements with automatic range
selection. (If the mechanical AC/DC button is not
pressed!)
The multimeter automatically selects the suit-
able voltage range. Besides the exact digital display
there is also an analog bargraph of the measured
value.
With reversed polarity in relation to the measur-
ing cables (red = +), additionally the minus sign is
displayed.
By shortly pressing the RANGE key an automa-
tically selected range can be held, by sequential
momentary pushing all ranges can manually be se-
lected. Instead of AUTO now MANU is displayed.
Overflow is signalized by a blinking “4” at the left.
By keeping the RANGE key pressed for 2-3 se-
conds it can be switched back to auto range mode,
if desired.
With the HOLD key a display can be “frozen in”.
By pressing this key again, this display is cancelled.
The voltage can also be displayed relative to a
fixed value. This is described further below.
The max. admissible voltage is 1000 V DC for
10 seconds.
