ASi two-core cable
The module boxes are connected to the power
supply and the LE using yellow two-core ASi cable.
The ASi cable transfers both data and power in the
same two cores. ASi cable is manufactured with a
moulded ridge for polarity reversal protection. It is
not necessary to remove the cable insulation when
connecting to the module boxes - special knife
contacts in the cable tray of the module box
penetrate the insulation to make the connection
(insulation displacement method). The cross section
of the conductors is 1,5 mm
2
. The plus cable has
brown insulation and the minus cable has light blue
insulation. The trapezoid cross section of the ASi
cable ensures that the cable entry in the module
boxes is sealed against contamination and moisture.

Coupling modules
Each coupling modules is designed to accept two
ASi cables. Knife contacts in the cable trays make
contact to the two conductors of the ASi cable using
the insulation displacement method (see Figure 18
on page 71).
Coupling modules can be closed to form a module
box with either a plain cover or with a user module.
