Pacemakers
For the purposes of the following recommendations, the MX-LOCare GPS Locator can
be considered similar in function to a handheld wireless phone.
The Health Industry Manufacturers Association recommends that a minimum
separation distance of 15cm (6 inches) be maintained between a handheld wireless
phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. These
recommendations are consistent with the independent research by and
recommendations of Wireless Technology Research.
Persons with pacemakers:
‧
Should ALWAYS keep the wireless device more than 15cm (6 inches) from their
pacemaker.
‧
If powered but not worn, should not carry the device in a breast pocket.
‧
Should use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for
interference. If you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place,
remove the device from your body and separate your self from the device by a
minimum of 15cm (6 inches).
